A house fire early Friday in Oxford, Massachusetts,
injured five people, including a police officer.
When the fire at 45 Leicester
St. started
at 12:45 a.m.,
four family members were inside.
A mother and her two teenage daughters were able to exit
the burning house after smelling smoke.
A police officer was injured while attempting
to assist the victim,
who had
second- and third-degree burns.
A 30-year-old man was imprisoned
inside the house and jumped from
the second flor.
Officials said the fire grew to three
alarms and entirely destroyed
the house. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
