Shivaleeka Oberoi says she is all out there for love: My ideal man would be someone who balances out my energy – Exclusive | Hindi Movie News

Shivaleeka Oberoi is currently riding high on the success of ‘Khuda Haafiz 2’. The film which also stars Vidyut Jammwal in the lead role, received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike. In a freewheeling conversation with ETimes, Shivaleeka spilled the beans on her unconventional debut, her journey in the industry so far, her idea of her ideal man and more. Excerpts…

You made your debut with ‘Yeh Saali Aashiqui’ wherein you played a character with grey shades. Is that the kind of debut you always wished you would have?

My character in ‘Yeh Saali Aashiqui’ had a lot of grey shades but it was appreciated by the audience and the critics. In real life, whatever I have wished for has never really come to me on a platter. It was a task for me to get my debut film. I have auditioned for two years rigorously. This is the best debut I could have got.

Makers of this film thought that apart from being a pretty face, I can also act well. For my debut, I always wanted to do something different and not just be a part of the debut list of the year. I am glad I stood out that year. The film has got me a lot of appreciation.

From working as an assistant director in films like ‘Kick’ and ‘Housefull 3’, to now playing the female lead, how has been your journey so far?

My journey from being an assistant director to being the lead heroine has been a dream come true for me. It is like everything has changed but nothing has changed because I haven’t changed. I am happy that I went through the process of getting my first film through auditioning. I have struggled a lot to get my first film, my second film and so on and people have shown me love and appreciation throughout.

Your fans are often curious to know about your love life and marriage plans. How would you describe your ideal man?

I believe that love and marriage is something that should happen organically. It is not something I like to force. It will happen when it happens. My ideal man would be someone who is honest and real. He should be down to earth. He should be a support system to me and someone who balances out my energy. It can be somebody from the industry or outside. I am all out there for love. I am a hardcore romantic. As and when it happens, I am going to be there for it and I am going to be in it.

What’s next after ‘Khuda Haafiz 2’?

I want to step out of my comfort zone for a while now and challenge myself more after ‘Khuda Haafiz 2’. I wish to try my hands in more massy entertainment, rom-coms and comedy horror. These are things I want to do and challenge myself.
