In a new interview with a news portal, Pooja revealed that it was a conscious decision on her part to not do Hindi films. The actress added that she didn’t want to do them just for the sake of it or do roles that didn’t matter to the storyline. Pooja also revealed that she has been offered films opposite big stars but she didn’t take it up because those characters didn’t add any value to the script.
Elaborating further, Pooja added that after ‘Mohenjo Daro’, she waited and then did ‘Housefull 4’ after a big gap because the banner was good. According to her, that film was a stepping stone for her as it gave her ‘Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali’ with Salman Khan and ‘Cirkus’ with Ranveer Singh.
Spilling some beans about her career in south film industry, Pooja stated that her biggest boon is that the Telugu audience has accepted her as one of their own. The south has given her respect and that gave her strength to pick and choose the films she wants to do in Hindi. According to her, Bollywood can be a little unforgiving sometimes if you aren’t from a film background or you don’t have the push; it takes some time to get the kind of roles that you want to do.
