April 14th has been a massive day for the patrons of Indian cinema as the mighty ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ got unleashed after a long wait. With box office and booking records waiting to be broken, it was apparent that ‘K.G.F 2’ had a grand road ahead to glory and the film has proven exactly that. According to the numbers shared by the team, the film has concluded its opening day at Rs. 134.5 crores, making it one of the biggest openers of all time for an Indian film.

In the home state of Karnataka, the Kannada film has already created history by grossing close to Rs. 28 Cr. and becoming the biggest opener, thus beating the likes of ‘James’, ‘RRR‘, and ‘Baahubali – The Conclusion’. In fact, reportedly, the film has collected close to Rs. 15 Cr in Bengaluru on Day 1 and this figure alone takes it to the top spot by a huge margin.

As far as the Hindi version of ‘K.G.F 2’ is concerned, the action saga is said to have collected over Rs. 54 crores to set yet another record in its name. As per trade reports, ‘K.G.F 2’ (Hindi) has edged past the Hrithik Roshan – Tiger Shroff starrer ‘War’ to top the charts. While the exact numbers are yet to be divulged, the current reports suggest that ‘K.G.F 2’ – Hindi has crossed the Rs. 54 Cr. mark on its opening day to become the highest Day #1 grosser for a Hindi release!

‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ has done stellar business in the Telugu states too with the Telugu dubbed version crossing the Rs. 25 Cr. on April 14th. In Kerala, where Prithviraj Sukumaran serves as the distributor, has outdone many previous records set and is, reportedly, nearing an all-time record. The Tamil version of ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ hasn’t disappointed by any means as the film, owing to the public demand, has had many new shows added in Tamil Nadu. Prashanth Neel‘s magnum opus, starring Yash and Sanjay Dutt, is to have finished at the top spot in Malaysia as well.
