Hiker dies at Grand Canyon Nationwide Park after 200-foot fall off ledge

A hiker at Grand Canyon Nationwide Park died Friday afternoon after falling 200 ft to his dying, officers stated. 

The hiker, a 44-year-old man whose title was not launched, was close to the rim west of the Vivid Angel Level Path on the North Rim of the nationwide park, the National Park Service said in a news release

Officers stated the person was off the path when he by accident fell off the sting of the rim. Responding rangers arrived on the scene after 3:30 p.m. and located the person’s physique “roughly 200 ft beneath the rim.”

The Nationwide Park Service advises individuals to remain on designated trails and walkways always whereas within the park, not climb over railings or fences and take note of members of climbing teams.
